Countdown for the Beach Polo Cup Dubai 2017 from 14th-15th December. Four international polo teams are confirmed to compete in one of the most glamorous polo tournaments in the world. The Beach Polo Cup Dubai 2017 presented by Nissan from December 14th to 15th is taking place at the uniquely, purpose built arena at Skydive Dubai and welcomes local and international polo professionals.

Under the Patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, the Beach Polo Cup Dubai 2017 presented by Nissan has been a part of the prestigious sporting events calendar in the region for more than a decade. Gaby Katiela, Tournament and Event Director: “Considering the continual growth within the city of Dubai, we have transformed the venue and have moved the tournament to a December date, bringing a magnificent close to the spectacular sporting event season for 2017.” This year’s line-up of the teams promises to be even more fiercely contested than any edition to date. Gaby Katiela: “The 2017 title race is wide open and all teams will definitely give their very best.”

The favoured Nissan LEAF team will feature the Emirati patrons Tariq Albwardy and his brother Rashid Albwardy, both successful and influential personalities in the UAE and international polo scene. They play together with the Argentinian professional Matias Machado from the Desert Palm Polo Club, who has led the winning team to victory in the last two editions of the Beach Polo Cup Dubai.

The Royal Pearls team includes the European Director for the FIP, Dr. Piero Dillier, as well as Moritz Gaedeke – FIP Ambassador and organiser of the European Polo Championship in Berlin 2016. They play together with the experienced professional Lucas Labat.

Hills Advertising team lines-up the British patron and last year’s winner Sam Instone alongside Jan Bladen from AE (winner 2015) supporting the Argentinian debutant Juan Jose Storni in his first appearance at the Beach Polo Cup Dubai.

Finally, the Art Marine team includes patrons Ayaad Damouni and Rashed Al Sayegh, as well as Argentina’s Maxi Malacalza, a long-time supporter of the Beach Polo Cup Dubai.
