The semifinals of the Tortugas Open Championship took place on Thursday at Tortugas Country Club. In the first match of the day, La Dolfina beat La Dolfina Polo Ranch by 18 goals to 9. La Dolfina has therefore secured a place in the final and will be looking for its sixth consecutive title in Tortugas. Up next, Ellerstina came out with guns blazing to beat Las Monjitas 15-10.
This will be the eighth consecutive Tortugas final between La Dolfina and Ellerstina, and the second ever final to be played between two 40-goal teams. The last time eight 10-goalers played a high goal final in Argentina was in 2009 in Palermo – between none other than La Dolfina and Ellerstina. Adolfo Cambiaso, Juan Martín Nero, Pablo Mac Donough, Facundo Pieres and Gonzalito Pieres also played that final.
