Uneku Atawodi is a 26 years-old Nigerian woman. Born and raised world-wide in a high society family, she is nowadays the first black woman playing polo professionally. She is also a great entrepreneur and philanthropist.

Neku, as people call her, started playing polo when she was 14. At the age of 16, she started cleaning the stables in order to make it on her own, and she kept on training hard to reach her dream. She studied Equestrian sciences and then a master in international business.

After several years, she finally participated to international tournaments and founded an association, Ride to Shine, that helps disadvantaged children to get a better future through polo and education. In addition she’s the owner of the Bamboo Hotel, a resort in Nigeria named after her polo team: Bamboo polo.

As for now, she competes as much in ladies and mixed tournaments. She’s known to be a fierce player and savvy business woman.
